Welcome back to the injury report where we break down the latest injuries from the week prior. I will provide an update on the player’s injury and discuss how the injury impacts output long-term in fantasy football. Let’s take a look at all of the injury headlines from this weekend.

Brock Purdy – QB, San Francisco 49ers

Injury: Right Shoulder Soreness

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan explained that quarterback Brock Purdy is experiencing right shoulder soreness following Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. The injury appears to be a result of physical contact during the game.

Shanahan characterized Purdy’s condition as “day-to-day” and indicated that the team’s first practice report on Wednesday will provide more clarity about the quarterback’s status. The severity and potential impact on Purdy’s upcoming game availability remain uncertain at this time.

Fantasy managers should monitor the team’s Wednesday practice report for additional information about Purdy’s condition and potential game availability.

Jake Ferguson – TE, Dallas Cowboys

Injury: Concussion

Jake Ferguson suffered a concussion in the first quarter of Monday Night Football and exited after recording just 1 catch for 11 yards. Fantasy managers should consider, tight end, Luke Schoonmaker to fill the tight void for the Cowboys in Ferguson’s absence. Schoonmaker has a 72% completion percentage on 11 targets.

Ferguson’s uncertain recovery timeline should be clear in the next day or so.

Darnell Mooney – WR, Atlanta Falcons

Injury: Hamstring strain

Mooney is battling a hamstring injury after recording two catches for 27 yards, his second-lowest yardage output this season. Despite the quiet game, he leads the team with 711 receiving yards and is tracking toward a potential 1,000-yard season.

Hamstring injuries can be lingering, but the Week 12 bye provides some recovery time. Mooney is the top target for the Falcons but has the lowest completion rate (57%) on the team. London, McCloud, and Pitts are pulling in 14%  or more of the target share a piece with completion rates above 70%. There are plenty of options if Mooney misses a bit of time.

Shane Zylstra – WR, Detroit Lions

Injury: Neck injury

Zylstra sustained a neck injury late in the fourth quarter during the Lions’ 52-6 win over the Jaguars. Injury severity remains unclear pending Wednesday’s practice. This injury has minimal disruption for fantasy, as Zylstra isn’t a primary offensive contributor. Brock Wright (9 catches, 58 yards, 1 touchdown) and James Mitchell from the practice squad could absorb more usage if Zylstra isn’t available.

Allen Robinson – WR, Detroit Lions

Injury: Concussion

Wide receiver, Allen Robinson, took a significant blow to the head during Sunday’s game. He initially attempted to stay on the field before being sent for concussion evaluation. Minimal roster significance given his decreased production since joining the Lions leaves plenty of options for fantasy managers when looking at Detroit. Robinson only became relevant during the blowout against the Jaguars.

Jacob Cowing – WR, San Francisco 49ers

Injury: Concussion

49ers’ Cowing was placed on concussion protocol after a hit during a punt return in the second quarter. Ruled out for the remainder of the game. Cowing has less than 2% of the team’s target share this season and shouldn’t shift fantasy roster decisions too much.

Tyjae Spears – RB, Tennessee Titans

Injury: Concussion

Tyjae Spears was evaluated for a head injury late in Sunday’s game against the Vikings. He rushed 3 times for no gain and caught 2 of 3 targets for 8 yards before the injury.

Significant for PPR formats, as Spears is the more efficient pass-catcher in Tennessee’s committee approach. Julius Chestnut is likely to see increased exposure if Spears cannot clear concussion protocol.

Zamir White – RB, Las Vegas Raiders

Injury: Quad Strain

Raiders’ running back, Zamir White, suffered a Quad injury leading to an early game exit, with Ameer Abdullah stepping in. Abdullah shows superior pass-catching efficiency (82% completion rate), potentially creating a backfield opportunity. However, Mattison remains the preferred Raiders’ running back option.

Alexander Mattison – RB, Las Vegas Raiders

Injury: Ankle Injury

Alexander Mattison injured his ankle during Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins. Before the injury, he recorded 5 rushes for 19 yards and caught all 3 targets for 50 receiving yards. Uncertain availability makes Mattison challenging to start, even in 12-team leagues. Managers should closely monitor injury updates in Vegas.
