We have reached Week 12, where we have a whopping six byes (Bengals, Bills, Falcons, Jaguars, Jets, Saints) including some very important names that you are going to be without in your matchup. We have only three weeks left until the fantasy playoffs in most leagues, and your Week 12 result could have some serious implications on your playoff aspirations. As a reminder, to qualify as a streamer, the players we will look at are owned and started in less than 50% of leagues (using ESPN percentages). Hopefully, we can help you out yet again and give you the confidence to navigate those decisive spot starts for the week.
QB Streamer: Tommy DeVito NYG
I told myself I wasn’t going to do this, but please hear me out. The New York Giants just benched Daniel Jones following their Week 11 bye, and they are turning to Tommy DeVito instead of Drew Lock to get the start this upcoming week. I know that the Giants have been a gross offense in recent weeks, but they have such a favorable matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that I can’t help but consider DeVito as a stream with so many big-name QBs on bye (Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Kirk Cousins, to name a few). The Buccaneers’ ‘defense is letting up the most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season, and I’m hoping Malik Nabers can get things going with the second-year quarterback.
Honorable Mention: Anthony Richardson IND
RB Streamer: Ameer Abdullah LV
Week 11 brought injuries to both of the top two running backs in the pecking order for the Las Vegas Raiders, Alexander Mattison (ankle) and Zamir White (quad). As of Friday morning, neither running back has logged a practice this week, both missing practices Wednesday and Thursday. Although the matchup is a little rocky with the Denver Broncos, if Ameer Abdullah has the starting gig, he is someone you can almost certainly snatch off of the waivers for a dart throw this week that has the upside to produce some numbers. I’d keep an eye on both Mattison and White this Friday to see if either of them makes any progress, and if not, Abdullah could be a full go this Sunday.
Honorable Mention: Roschon Johnson CHI
WR Streamer: Adam Thielen CAR
Following a seven-game absence on injured reserve, Adam Thielen has already stated that he is finally aiming for a return this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. The main thing I am looking at here is Thielen’s consistency in the 2023 season, as Bryce Young relied on the veteran receiver pretty heavily. He was able to eclipse 1000 receiving yards last year in what was a rather lackluster offense. Thielen will prove to be very important to the offense this week if they are to find success, where their opponent has had a mediocre past couple of weeks against the wide receiver position.
Honorable Mention: Alec Pierce IND
TE Streamer: Luke Schoonmaker DAL
Luke Schoonmaker was able to take full advantage of Jake Ferguson going down with a concussion in a Week 11 loss to the Houston Texans. The second-year tight end saw 10 targets and brought in six receptions for 56 yards after the starter exited the game early. With Ferguson not making any notable progress through concussion protocol, Schoonmaker should see another week of increased volume barring any sudden changes. Although the Commanders have been relatively solid when it comes to slowing down the passing attack of their opponents, Cooper Rush should rely on Schoonmaker to be a dump down target all game.
Honorable Mention: Will Dissly LAC
K Streamer: Chad Ryland ARI
Chad Ryland has been very solid for the Arizona Cardinals as Matt Prater continues to remain on the IR, converting 10 of 11 field goal attempts and all nine of his extra point attempts. This game has the highest point total for the week, where we should see a lot of points, and a chance for kickers on both sides of the ball to see opportunities. Jason Myers was our stream last week, so we will go with Ryland in Week 12, who should be a reliable stream in this week.
Honorable Mention: Zane Gonzalez WAS
D/ST Streamer: Washington Commanders D/ST
The Commanders D/ST has been back and forth this season, but they have proven enough times that they are good against bad offenses. Which is perfect, because this week they are matched up against one of the teams that has had significant struggles on the offensive side of the ball in the Dallas Cowboys, even before the departure of Dak Prescott. Last week, the Texans defense was able to exploit the Cowboys offense, recording an interception, a scoop and score, as well as sacking Cooper Rush five times. The Cowboys have been a disaster this year and Washington should be able to be a solid streaming option in Week 12.
Honorable Mention: Tampa Bay Buccaneers D/ST
