NFL Conference Championship Boom and Bust Fantasy Players

Win or lose, the Conference Championship games produced both boom and bust fantasy football players. I highlighted a select few who may have helped you win or caused you to lose your daily fantasy match. I offered analysis on each player whether they will be playing in the Super Bowl in two weeks, or are already preparing for the 2025 fantasy football season.

Boom

Eagles Rush Offense

The Eagles dominated the Commanders in the same fashion they dominated all season long – an elite run game and defense. Philly’s defense forced 4 turnovers which helped set the Eagles up for SEVEN rushing TDs.

Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts both came up huge for fantasy managers to the tune of 30.7 and 33.44 points respectively.

Barkley had 16 touches for 122 total yards and 3 rushing TDs. Jalen Hurts wouldn’t be outdone by his MVP candidate running back. He also tallied 3 rushing TDs along with going 20/28 for 246 yards and 1 TD through the air.

After their Conference Championship victory, both Eagles’ playmakers will be available for your Super Bowl fantasy rosters are are must starts.

James Cook BUF RB 26.9 Points

The Buffalo Bills lost another heartbreaking playoff game to the Kansas City Chiefs, but James Cook sure did his part.

Although he only touched the ball 16 times in the game, Cook was dominant and seemingly unstoppable to the Chiefs’ defense. He amassed 134 total yards and 2 TDs in the loss.

The Conference Championship loss means we’ve seen the last of James Cook for the season, but he’ll return for the 2025 fantasy football season as an RB1 and late first or early second-round pick in redraft leagues.

Bust

Travis Kelce KC TE 2.9 Points

Travis Kelce‘s playoff success has been widely celebrated as of late as he approaches the all-time leader in playoff receiving yards, Jerry Rice..

Catching Jerry Rice this season will be difficult after adding only 19 yards to his resume against the Bills in the AFC Championship game. Kelce caught 2 of 4 targets in the victory for a total of 2.9 fantasy points.

Despite his poor showing, the Chiefs have advanced to the Super Bowl and Kelce will surely be a bigger part of the gameplan against the Eagles. In his 4 Super Bowl appearances, Kelce averages 7.8 catches per game for 87.5 yards per game. Kelce caught 6 passes for 81 yards (17.1 fantasy points) and 1 TD against the Eagles in Super Bowl 57.

Be sure to include Travis Kelce in your daily fantasy lineups on Super Bowl Sunday.

Dyami Brown WAS WR 3.7 Points

Dyami Brown is surely no household name, but he’s done his best to become one throughout the playoffs – until the NFC Championship game on Sunday.

In his first two playoff games, Brown caught 11 passes for 187 yards and a TD, averaging 15.1 fantasy points per game. This made Brown a popular value daily fantasy play this week.

Brown left his fantasy managers disappointed after catching only 3 passes for 42 yards and losing a fumble.

The Commanders will likely add another wide receiver to compliment their WR1 Terry McLaurin, but the situation is worth watching heading into the 2025 fantasy football season as Brown produced down the stretch this season.
