Standard fantasy leagues may have ended, but the fantasy football train keeps on rolling. Daily fantasy and playoff leagues are going strong. Below are some of the boom and bust fantasy players for the Divisional Round.
All point values are via FanDuel Fantasy.
Boom
Saquon Barkley PHI RB 37.2 Points
On a snow-covered field in Philadelphia, Saquon Barkley showed up even bigger than expected for fantasy owners. Barkley was the best player on the field, who also happened to be the best suited for the wintery conditions.
Barkley carried the ball 26 times for 205 yards and 2 TDs, including a 78-yard game-sealing TD run. Barkley also added 27 yards on 4 receptions for a grand total of 37.2 points.
Next up for Barkley is the Commanders who just allowed 201 yards and 3 TDs on the ground against the Detroit Lions.
Jahmyr Gibbs DET RB 32.5 Points
As mentioned above, the Detroit Lions gashed the Commanders for 201 yards on the ground – 105 of them from Jahmyr Gibbs alone. Gibbs also added 70 receiving yards on 6 catches and totaled 2 TDs on the day.
His 32.5 points was very impressive in the loss. Although Gibbs won’t be available for you next week, he’s certainly a top tier RB for fantasy football in 2025.
Bust
A.J. Brown PHI WR 2.4 Points
This will be Brown’s second straight appearance as a bust in my Boom and Bust article, but deservedly so. Brown followed up a 1.5-point game with a 2.4-point stinker. The elements were certainly a factor as he managed to haul in only 2 of his 7 targets for 14 yards.
Brown did manage to make one of the bigger plays of the game, converting a huge 4th down for the Eagles.
It was a clutch play, but we don’t get points for those in fantasy football. The play only counted for 1.4 points which doesn’t help our fantasy squads much.
Hollywood Brown KC WR 0 Points
After Hollywood Brown signed with the Chiefs in the offseason, it looked like it was a big step towards their offense finally opening back up to what it was when Patrick Mahomes was winning MVP awards. Brown got injured early on and missed most of the regular season, but hopes remained he would returned to form after his injury.
He hasn’t.
Hollywood Brown was targeted only 2 times in the Chiefs divisional game against the Texans and caught none of them. He tallied zero points, producing a goose egg for any of those who selected him hoping for a big play with some value points.
