With week 6 officially in the books and the news of Davante Adams heading to New York the landscape of fantasy football is everchanging. You may be dealing with injuries, bye weeks, or just need to cycle players out on your bench. Whatever it is, the waiver wire is there to help Let’s take a look at some of the best players that should be added this week on waivers.

Demario Douglas WR (NE)
With Drake Maye at quarterback, the Patriots have some life on offense making their weapons in the passing game more intriguing in fantasy football. Douglas had the biggest game out of the bunch, leading the team in targets, receptions, and yards. Boutte and Polk did log more snaps than Douglas this week but failed to produce as he did. Douglas is currently available in 92% of leagues and has scored over 11 PPR points in 3 of his last 4 games. With a matchup against the Jaguars in week 7, expect him to continue his hot streak and become even more popular in the fantasy community. NOW is the time to add him.
Cade Otton TE (TB)
The tight end position had its highest scoring output of the season in week 6 despite having four teams on byes. The inconsistency at the position in 2024 has been one of the biggest headlines of the fantasy football season. Cade Otton is an intriguing pickup considering the current state of the tight end position. He caught his first touchdown of the season last week and averaged 9.5 PPR points per game in the last four weeks. The Bucs have one of the highest passing rates in the NFL and Otton’s 94.8% route participation creates a high weekly floor. He is an intriguing option to help fix your tight-end woes.
Isaac Guerendo RB (SF)
Jordan Mason suffered a shoulder sprain last Thursday and his status is in question this week as he participated as a non-contact player in practice on Monday. It is encouraging to see him out there practicing but Mason’s play style of being a violent runner could lead to reaggravating his shoulder. We saw against the Seahawks that he injured that shoulder, returned to play, and then was ruled out after one play. Guerendo is the next guy up for the 49ers and finished with 99 rushing yards on 10 attempts last week. Regardless of who the 49ers trot out there at RB, they are going to produce in fantasy football. Guerendo is a smart waiver pickup heading into week 7.
Ty Chandler RB (MIN)
Aaron Jones suffered a hip injury in the week 5 win over the Jets with the injury being “week-to-week” instead of an IR trip. Yesterday the veteran running back was back at practice following the bye but is “far from a lock to play Sunday against the Detroit Lions.” With Jones status in the air this week, it is imperative to add Ty Chandler. Chandler has struggled with efficiency this season (3.5 yards per attempt) in his limited touches but will be in line for a 60%+ snap share if Jones misses time.
Bub Means WR (NO)
The Saints have a quick turnaround this week with a matchup on Thursday Night against the Denver Broncos. Both Chris Olave (Concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (Knee injury) status for that matchup are in doubt. With Spencer Rattler at quarterback, the Saints offense did not perform as badly as expected against the Buccaneers. Rattler’s favorite target in week 6 was Bub Means who had 5 catches for 45 yards and a touchdown on 8 targets. Both rookies have had time to build that connection on the Saints 2nd team and the chemistry between the duo showed last week. If Olave and Shaheed miss week 7, it makes Means an interesting FLEX play in deep leagues.
Juju Smith-Schuster WR (KC)
I mentioned Juju would be the guy inserted into Rashee Rice’s role after his injury. I was expecting him to get 3-4 catches a game, instead he finished with 7 catches for 130 yards on 8 targets in the first game after Rice’s injury. He earned an 82.7 grade in week 5 from PFF while leading all wide receivers in Kansas City with a 67% snap share. Defenses will continue to try and take away Travis Kelce leaving the middle of the field open for Juju going forward. I don’t expect him to match the level of Rice’s production the rest of this season but could be a plug-and-play FLEX depending on matchups.
Top Priority (If Available)
Josh Downs
49.2% Rostered
Downs has been awesome with Joe Flacco under center scoring 15 or more PPR points in three straight games. His 25% or greater target share in all four of his games played suggest he still holds value when Anthony Richardson returns from injury. If he still is available, he should be the number 1 pick up in all formats.
Tyrone Tracy Jr.
45% Rostered
Tracy is now averaging 18+ points in the two games without Devin Singletary proving to be a valuable weapon for the New York Giants. The impending return of Devin Singletary looms large for Tracy’s usage but his performance over the last two weeks suggests that he has carved out a role alongside Singletary. Tracy should be rostered already and is a guy worth stashing even with a healthy Singletary.
Tank Bigsby
44% Rostered
The Jaguars backfield has been inconsistent in terms of snap share but with Travis Etienne expected to miss time with a hamstring injury, Tank Bigsby is more valuable than ever in fantasy football. Bigsby has the highest explosive run rate in the NFL at 14.6% and has a favorable matchup against the Patriots in week 7. He will be the beneficiary over D’Ernest Johnson to earn more snaps at running back for the Jaguars.
