Biggest Fantasy Football Winners and Losers After Week 2

Week 2 was a jam packed slate full of upsets and wild endings. As we start to get a clearer picture on each team, we are able to make a better analysis on each players fantasy impact the rest of the season. Injuries are starting to pile up with stars like Isiah Pacheco, Cooper Kupp, and Justin Jefferson all getting hurt in week 2. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest winners and losers after week 2.

Winners

Brock Bowers TE (LV)

Bowers is our biggest winner as he was a big contributor in the Raiders upset win over the Ravens yesterday. He had 9 catches and 98 yards bumping his season totals up to 15 catches for 156 yards. The rookie seems to be a big part of the offense going forward and should be locked in as a weekly starter.

J.K. Dobbins RB (LAC)

Jim Harbaugh has made it very clear that the Chargers offense will be built behind their running game. Dobbins now has 27 carries for 266 yards and 2 touchdowns through 2 games. Dobbins has established himself as a weekly starter

D.K. Metcalf WR (SEA)

Metcalf cooked the Patriots secondary in the Seahawks overtime win. He had 10 catches for 129 yards and a touchdown on 14 targets. After a quiet week 1 it seems like D.K. has high WR2 upside the rest of the season.

Chris Godwin WR (TB)

The Buccaneers offense has been very good through the first 2 weeks of the season. Godwin after 2 weeks has 15 catches for 200 yards and 2 touchdowns. Godwin is a huge winner long term and feels like he was a steal in fantasy drafts a month ago.

Josh Jacobs RB (GB)

After Jordan Love’s injury we knew Jacobs volume would increase. Head coach Matt LaFleur fed him 32 carries helping him finish with 151 rushing yards. With Love out Jacobs will lead the NFL in touches.

Alvin Kamara RB (NO)

The Saints offense has been the biggest surprise so far of 2024. Kamara had shades of his fantasy championship winning performance a few years ago in week 2. He finished with 180 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win over the Cowboys. Kamara is a RB1 the rest of the season.

Arizona Cardinals Offense

The Cardinals offense was a popular breakout pick among the fantasy community. Sunday was their coming out party against the Rams. Kyler Murray had 3 touchdowns, James Conner had 122 yards, and Marvin Harrison had 2 touchdowns. This group will be fun to watch going forward and major winners from week 2.

Losers

Michael Pittman WR (IND)

The Colts offense struggled against the Packers on Sunday. After a rough week 1, Pittman finished with 3 catches for 21 yards in the loss. Anthony Richardson’s inconsistency as a passer is hurting Pittman’s weekly output

Amari Cooper WR (CLE)

The Browns offense had another uninspiring performance in week 2. After 2 weeks Amari Cooper only has 5 catches for 27 yards. These numbers are well behind fellow WR’s Elijah Moore and Jerry Jeudy. Concerns are rising for Cooper

Christian Kirk WR (JAX)

Kirk is another WR getting outshined in a bad offense. He now has 2 catches for 29 yards on the SEASON. Brian Thomas Jr. and Gabe Davis have received more targets than Kirk through 2 weeks, making it clear where Kirk is in the depth chart. Time to take him out of your starting lineup

Diontae Johnson WR (CAR)

Another player who should be hitting your bench after this week. The hype around Diontae Johnson this offseason was warranted. Unfortunately the Panthers haven’t shown any progress from last year. Until they do, you need to bench Johnson going forward.

Patrick Mahomes QB (KC)

Mahomes had another rough fantasy output in week 2. He finished with 151 yards 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The Chiefs offense so far in 2024 has not looked as explosive as many expected. Good buy low candidate

Zamir White RB (LV)

The Raiders backfield is a mess right now. In today’s win they only averaged 1.7 yards per carry with White leading the team in touches. Expect them to mix up the touches to get the running back room going in week 3.

Ja’Marr Chase WR (CIN)

Chase hasn’t had a bad start to the season by any means. He has 10 catches for 97 yards with 0 touchdowns in the year. Based on his draft position, we were expecting him to have a bentree start to the season. With an easier schedule coming up he will be just fine.
