In the electrifying world of college football, the 2024 season will be a showcase of high-octane offenses. Whether through aerial assaults, ground-and-pound tactics, or a balanced attack, these teams have captured the imagination of fans and analysts alike, making 2024 a landmark year in college football history.
At least, we hope.
10. Texas Longhorns

This will, horns down, be the best offense in the state of Texas.
Led by EA cover athlete and Heisman contender Quinn Ewers, who nearly led the Longhorns to a National Championship appearance last season, there’s no limits to how explosive this offense can be.
Two new faces will be featured this upcoming year, in WRs Isaiah Bond and Matthew Golden, who transferred from Alabama and Houston respectively.
The problem?
All three of Texas’s starting WRs combined for a total of 1,208 yards last season. With a largely unproven WR corps, the Longhorns can’t be any higher on this list.
Most Important Player: Quinn Ewers
Biggest Weakness: Unproven WR Corps
9. Miami Hurricanes
The Miami offense got a huge boost by landing QB Cameron Ward in the portal out of Washington State. As Mario Cristobal’s seat continues to heat up, the U will need quite the offensive season to compete in the ACC.
Led by receiver Xavier Restrepo, who finished second in the ACC in receiving yards last season (1,092), Ward has one of the most explosive targets in the conference. Among Restrepo, Jacoby George also returns for the Canes, finishing 3rd in the ACC last year, with 864 yards.
The biggest question surrounding Miami in 2024 is, which WR duo will show up? In Miami’s final game of the season, in the Pinstripe Bowl against Rutgers, the two combined for only 112 yards on 13 receptions.
Most Important Player: WR Xavier Restrepo
Biggest Weakness: Clock Management
8. Oklahoma Sooners
Despite losing possibly the most talented passer in the nation to Oregon in Dillon Gabriel, the Sooners still look to have a booming offense in 2024 (pun very much intended).
The offense, under the rule of Seth Littrell for the first time, will continue to feature the spread. The former Head Coach of North Texas, Littrell looks to take a step down and focus on what he does best. When he inherited the UNT program in 2015, it seemed there was no hope, sitting at 1-11. In spite of this, the Mean Green went 9-5 back to back years in his 3rd and 4th seasons, which is exactly why I’m confident in his ability to lead the Sooner offense.
Former 5-Star recruit Jackson Arnold will be the starting QB, and Redshirt Sophomore Gavin Sawchuk looks to be the featured back. He averaged 6.2 ypc the year prior.
Most Important Player: RB Gavin Sawchuk
Biggest Weakness: Unproven QB play
7. LSU Tigers

With first round picks QB Jayden Daniels and WRs Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas off to the NFL, and Offensive Coordinator Mike Denbrock off to Notre Dame, it would seem the Tigers offense would take a step back.
Not seaux fast.
According to Phil Steele, one of the top CFB analysts in the game, the Tigers boast the #1 and #2 best Offensive Tackles in the Nation. Will Campbell and Emery Jones Jr. are surefire 1st round picks, baring something catastrophic. Combine this with returning TE Mason Taylor and WR Kyren Lacy and LSU will once again be an offensive powerhouse.
Most Important Player: QB Garrett Nussmeier
Biggest Weakness: Lack of Experience
6. Memphis Tigers
Memphis will have the offensive firepower to go toe-to-toe with any team in the country, at least, on one side of the ball.
Returning the leading passer from the AAC, Seth Henigan, the conference is the Tigers’ to lose. The #2 Junior piled up nearly 3,900 yards last season, passing for 300+ in 4 of his last 5 games. Roc Taylor and Demeer Blankumsee also return, the duo combined for nearly 2,000 yards of receiving production last season.
The offensive esteem continues, with Memphis returning three O-Line starters, including Xavier Hill who was a second-team conference selection.
Most Important Player: QB Seth Henigan
Biggest Weakness: Center
5. Ohio State Buckeyes

One of the greatest WRs in decades went from Ohio State to the NFL in Marvin Harrison Jr last season. But that doesn’t mean it’s not just the next man up for the Buckeyes.
In a season that’s make or break for OSU, Ryan Day must continue his specialty of high-powered offense. The Offensive Coordinator under Urban Meyer, Day has produced the #2 Overall pick at QB and three first round wide receivers in the last two Drafts, but I fully expect more.
Transfer Will Howard will offer a change of pace at QB, while potential Day 1 pick Emaka Egbuka will highlight the most talented position group in the nation. Just how talented you may ask? OSU has landed back to back 5-Star WRs in 2023-24 and has enough blue chip prospects to start for nearly half the conference.
And oh yeah, they added a Top-10 RB in the country in Quinshon Judkins.
Most Important Player: RB TreVeyon Henderson
Biggest Weakness: Replacing RBs Coach Tony Alford
4. Liberty Flames
While nearly every team on this list features an explosive passing offense, Liberty is an example of old-school football.
Leading FBS in rushing yards per game on the ground in 2023 (293.3), the Flames were able to reach the Fiesta Bowl. The sights are set just as high this coming year with RB Quinton Cooley remaining on the team.
Returning QB Kaidon Salter was solid last season as well, completing 61% of his passes, throwing for 32 TDs, and leading his team to a 13-1 record and Conference USA title. There’s no reason to think Liberty would “flame out” in 2024.
Most Important Player: RB Quinton Cooley
Biggest Weakness: Efficiency in the passing game
3. Ole Miss Rebels
“Christmas in Dixie, it’s snowin’ in the pines.
Merry Christmas from Dixie, to everyone tonight.”
While it might not be snowing come Christmas morning in Mississippi, the Rebels will sure hope they have a lot of football left to play.
Yes, they lost Quinshon Judkins to Ohio State. Yes they lost two offensive lineman from last season. But the Ole Miss offense still has a chance to be the best in the nation.
Passing for 3,350+ yards, 23 touchdowns, and just 5 interceptions in ‘23, Jaxon Dart has cemented himself as one of the best QBs in the nation. Despite losing Judkins, the RB room still returns nearly 3,000 yards of career production and 29 career touchdowns. The Rebels could very well have a three-headed monster at HB, joined by Henry Perrish Jr, a transfer from the Hurricanes.
Ole Miss returns three of their top 4 receivers, including Tre Harris who hauled in 54 balls last season (985 yards, 8 TDs). Jordan Watkins was impressive as well, catching one less pass and exceeding 740 yards.
As if the offense wasn’t scary enough, the Rebels boast an O-Line group that has more than 200 career starts. They even landed transfers from Washington in Nate Kalepo and Julius Below, who were part of the Joe Moore winning line, given to college football’s best Offensive Line.
Most Important Player: QB Jaxon Dart
Biggest Weakness: Lack of Postseason Experience
2. Georgia Bulldogs

Many believe the Bulldogs were snubbed of a playoff spot in 2023: They will not be stubbed again.
No one in College Football has recruited like Georgia in recent years. Signing four Top-3 classes in a row, including #1 in 2024 (Per On3), there’s no shortage of talent on this offense. The Dawgs return starter Carson Beck, who is a projected 1st round pick by every reputable source. Athlon Sports goes as far to predict the QB goes 5th Overall to the Giants, as the first Quarterback off the board.
The Bulldogs have more than QB talent though, landing Florida Star-RB Trevor Etienne through the portal. To go alone with Etienne, Georgia boasts the third best offensive line in the SEC, per 247 sports.
Most Important Player: QB Carson Beck
Biggest Weakness: Is there one?
1. Oregon Ducks
Best Quarterback in the nation? Check
Elite WR core? Check
All the hype for a team that’s never won a National Championship? Double Check
I’m 100% buying into the Oregon hype this year and truly believe the Ducks can win their first National Title. Dillon Gabriel who’s already been mentioned before will have full reigns to the offense. WRs such as Tez Johnson and transfer Evan Stewart will slice through Big Ten defenses. Jordan James will be the lead back after racking up nearly 800 yards last season as the backup.
The Ducks will fly to the top of College Football, just like in this power ranking.
Most Important Player: Dillon Gabriel
Biggest Weakness: Flying too close to the sun (Over hyping)
