Ranking the Top 100 Players in the NFL in 2024 | 80-71

As the 2024 NFL season approaches, the excitement is growing, with teams gearing up for another year of football. Every season brings a fresh wave of anticipation, not just for the games themselves but also for the players who will define the year. In this article, we kick off our countdown of the top 100 players in the NFL heading into 2024, continuing with those ranked 80 through 71. These players have proven their talent and impact on the field, earning them a spot among the league’s elite. From rising stars to seasoned veterans, this section of the list highlights players poised to make significant contributions to their teams in the upcoming season.

80. Rashan Gary EDGE Packers

Rashan Gary is never going to jump out to you on a box score stat line, but he is a force for the Packers off the edge. According to PFF Gary ranked 74.2 pass rushing and 75.4 against the run in 2023. Gary is a plus run defender with around 8 sacks every season. It is not flashy, but he is a solid player that is just turning 27 after 5 NFL seasons already under his belt.

79. Daron Bland CB Cowboys

Daron Bland might be the definition of a boom or bust corner. Similar to teammate Trevon Diggs, Bland is a ball hawk. He finished last season with 9 interceptions and returned 5 for touchdowns earning him an all pro selection. Despite his incredible knack for the ball, he is not great in the run game and does tend to get beat at times in coverage. When everything is clicking, Bland is a game changing player.

78. Breece Hall RB Jets

Everyone that watches the NFL should be excited to watch Breece Hall play this year. Last year Hall had the worst offensive line and quarterback situation in football. Despite this he continued to make highlight reel plays week after week. With the Jets bolstering their offensive line and the return of future hall of famer Aaron Rodgers, Hall is poised to establish himself as a top running back in the game.

77. Minkah Fitzpatrick S Steelers

After a down year, Minkah finds himself lower on the top 100 players of 2024. Injuries contributed to one of Minkah’s worst seasons as a pro and saw himself finish with 0 interceptions in 2023. If he is healthy this year he could once again establish himself as a top 35 player in the NFL again.

76. Derrick Henry RB Ravens

Derrick Henry is going from the worst offensive line in yards per contact to the best offensive line in yards per contact. I feel bad for any defense that has to deal with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry when they are healthy. If Henry stays healthy with his decrease in volume this season, he will be in for a monster season in Baltimore.

75. Mike Evans WR Bucs

Mr. Consistency at the wide receiver position. Evans has never failed to have under 1000 receiving yards in a season. In 2023 he had his most catches (79) and receiving yards (1255) since 2018 in his age 30 season. It is time to start appreciating what the future hall of famer is doing before it is too late. It will be interesting to see if Evans declines or his volume changes in the Bucs new offensive scheme.

74. Aaron Rodgers QB Jets

Maybe a controversial pick for some, but Aaron Rodgers belongs on everyone’s top 100 list. He won back-to-back MVPs in 2020 and 2021 before fading in 2022 then missing all of 2023 with his Achilles injury. Rodgers has elite weapons in Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson that he was missing in 2022 when he regressed. If the offensive line keeps Rodgers upright, he will be efficient and a major upgrade for the Jets in 2024.

73. Danielle Hunter EDGE Texans

Recent acquistion for the Texans, Hunter brings 87.5 sacks after finishing with a career high 16.5 last season for the Vikings. He is averaging over 10 sacks a season in a career and is just turning 30 years old. Hunter is a premier pass rusher who is not great against the run and will be very successful in Houston with partner in crime Will Anderson Jr.

72. Jalen Carter DT Eagles

Jalen Carter delivered on all of the hype heading into his rookie season. In 2023 Carter finished as the 6th ranked defensive tackle according to PFF with an 87.4 grade. Carter is a force in the middle of the defensive that is only just starting his long NFL career, and I would not be surprised if he climbs up this list before 2025.

71. Khalil Mack EDGE Chargers

Many Chargers players had a rough 2023 season, one of the exceptions was Khalil Mack. After having only 14 sacks in 2021 and 2022, Mack finished with 17 sacks last season. Heading into his age 33 season if Mack can continue turning the clock back to his prime, he is one of the best EDGE defenders in the NFL heading into 2024.
