5 of the Biggest Risers to Know in Fantasy Football after the Postseason

The season has officially concluded with the Philadelphia Eagles taking home the Super Bowl trophy and ending the Chiefs’ chances at a three-peat. Jalen Hurts had a dominant postseason as he averaged 24.1 fantasy points per game and was named Super Bowl MVP. We all know Hurts will be one of the most desired quarterbacks In drafts next year but I want to talk about some players rising up my draft board after performing well in the postseason. Below I mention my five biggest risers in fantasy football after the postseason.

The Biggest Risers

1. Xavier Worthy WR (KC)

Stats: 19 Catches, 287 Receiving Yards, 3 Touchdowns (3 Games)

PPG: 22.2

Summary: Xavier Worthy stepped up on the biggest stage continuing his hot stretch to end the season and is the biggest riser. In the Championship round, Worthy had 85 receiving yards and a touchdown scoring 22 points, and then in the Super Bowl, he had 35.7 points utilizing his speed to beat the Eagles over the top in garbage time. Worthy has developed his route tree this year becoming Patrick Mahomes‘ favorite target with Rashee Rice sidelined. He scored 19 or more points in five of his final six games and will have more value than his ADP with a Rice suspension coming. Draft Xavier Worthy next year at all costs, he is the real deal.

2. Tyler Higbee TE (LAR)

Stats: 12 Catches, 112 Receiving Yards, 1 Touchdown (2 Games)

PPG: 14.6

Summary: Tyler Higbee returned from injury and was effective in the last three weeks of the Rams season having over 46 yards in each game while adding two touchdowns. With Cooper Kupp on the trade block, there are more targets to go around in Los Angeles. Matthew Stafford will continue to feed Puka Nacua, but I believe Higbee is the second option in the Rams offense heading into 2025 and a fantasy riser. Higbee will be valued at the end of drafts and is worth a dart throw to see if he can be a consistent TE1 this year.

riser
3. Dyami Brown WR (WAS)

Stats: 14 Catches, 229 Receiving Yards, 1 Touchdown (3 Games)

PPG: 13.6

Summary: Dyami Brown had a great postseason and earned himself some money this offseason. The upcoming free-agent receiver had back-to-back games over 89 yards and became a valuable second option in the passing game outside of Terry McLaurin. Brown was beating teams over the top while showcasing his ability to win underneath on crossing routes. He is only 25 years old and will have a competitive market this offseason. If the Commanders retain him and do not trade for a WR2, Brown is a sneaky pick at the end of PPR drafts making him a riser.

4. Rashod Bateman WR (BAL)

Stats: 6 Catches, 90 Receiving Yards, 2 Touchdowns (2 Games)

PPG: 13.5

Summary: Rashod Bateman filled in as the WR1 for the Ravens in the postseason with Zay Flowers hurt. Bateman had a career-high 10.3 points per game this season while adding 9 touchdowns in the regular season. With Bateman, he is starting to develop more of a route tree which opened more passes down the field for the 25-year-old receiver which led to another career high with 72 targets. The Ravens offense will always lack the volume for Bateman to be valuable in PPR leagues but his deep threat ability is valuable in non-ppr formats.

5. Patrick Mahomes QB (KC)

Stats: 679 Passing Yards, 5 TDs, 2 INTs, 82 Rushing Yards, 2 Rushing TDs (3 Games)

PPG: 21.8

Summary: Everyone will remember Patrick Mahomes disastrous first three-quarters of the Super Bowl instead of the body of work this postseason. Mahomes failed to score 20 points for eight straight weeks to begin the season but ended his season with four of his last five games over that point total. There will be positive regression with Mahomes regular season numbers soon with a healthy receiving corps and an improved offensive line. With positive regression in store and better play towards the end of the season, Mahomes could be a value in the middle of the draft this year.
