The 2024 NFL season is in the books along with Super Bowl 59. This was our last opportunity at fantasy football until the fall of 2025. Here is your final installment of Boom and Bust Fantasy Players of the season.
All points totals are via FanDuel Fantasy.
Boom
Xavier Worthy KC WR 31.7 Points
Despite the blowout loss, Xavier Worthy came up huge in the Super Bowl for the Kansas City Chiefs. He caught all eight of his targets for 157 yards and 2 TDs.
His huge game was not enough to overcome the Philadelphia Eagles who defeated the Chiefs 40-22 in a game that was not as close as the score indicates. Worthy is one of the few Chiefs wide receivers under contract in 2025 and should be worthy of a flex play in fantasy leagues next season.
Jalen Hurts PHI QB 29.04 Points
Hurts led the Eagles to their second Super Bowl Trophy behind his arm and legs on Sunday night. He completed 17 of 22 passes (77.3%) for 221 yards and 2 TDs, plus one interception. He added 72 yards and a TD on the ground on 11 carries.
Jalen Hurts will enter the 2025 fantasy season as a high-end QB1, looking to build on his successful 2024 campaign.

Bust
Saquon Barkley PHI RB 12.7 Points
In most cases, 12.7 fantasy points from a RB is acceptable, but this is no ordinary back. The Chiefs defense held Barkley to 57 yards on 25 carries, averaging just 2.3 yards per carry. Barkley added 40 yards on 6 receptions, but his 12.7 points was far less than we’re used to seeing from the 2024 Offensive Player of the Year.
The Eagles’ Super Bowl-winning recipe runs through Saquon Barkley and with two more years on his contract, that won’t change in 2025. Barkley is a high-end RB1 and will be in contention for the first overall pick in fantasy drafts next season.
Travis Kelce KC TE 5.9 Points
The Chiefs’ passing game was out of sync all game long due mostly to the fierce Eagles pass rush getting to Patrick Mahomes early and often. Mahomes’ favorite target, Travis Kelce, ended the game catching just 4 passes for 39 yards.
Reports surfaced on Super Bowl Sunday that Kelce was unsure about his playing future, but if he continues, he should remain Mahomes’ favorite target thus remaining a strong TE1 in fantasy drafts.
