Finding the best guys to fit into your lineup is not always the easiest task when dealing with bye weeks or injuries. Each week we drop three emergency starts that you can fill into your fantasy lineup and avoid a “bust” performance. All the players mentioned are available in 75% or more of Fantasy leagues. Below are three players that can help you win your week in fantasy that are on waivers right now.
Ameer Abdullah RB (LV)
Abdullah is set for an increased role with the injuries to Alexander Mattison and Zamir White ahead of the Raiders matchup against the Broncos. Nearly all of his touches this season have come on third down or two-minute drill resulting in three 10+ point performances. After both Mattison and White went down with injuries in the 4th quarter, Abdullah filled in on 88% of snaps. Despite being great against the run, the Broncos are allowing 9.5 points per game to running backs through the air. Abdullah will back his way into 10+ points through dump downs despite being inefficient due to the Raiders likely being down by multiple scores.
Kavontae Turpin WR (DAL)
Turpin is a risky option this week if you are working solely off of his performance from last week but is a viable streamer option. The risk comes from Cooper Rush being under center for Dallas, but last week, even with just 3 targets, Turpin put up 86 yards and a touchdown. Turpin showcased his big play ability, something the Cowboys offense has been missing. He now faces a Washington defense that allows 19 PPG on average to Wide Receivers, slightly above the league average. The Cowboys are expected to be down multiple scores in this one allowing a potential increase in volume for Turpin.
Roschon Johnson RB (CHI)
Johnson from Weeks 6-10 saw just 11 carries, but last week against Green Bay saw 10 and rewarded fantasy owners of his with a touchdown and his second highest output of the season with 10.1 points. It was Johnson’s highest snap share of the year at 42%, and D’Andre Swift has been limited this week with a groin injury. Johnson took valuable snaps on third down, the two minute-drill, and on the goal line last week. Although he faces a tough Minnesota defense, he is worth taking a flyer on due to his increased role in the Bears offense.
